About Me
All ages welcome, no prior experience required.
I am the orchestral conductor for the Sinfonietta and Symphony Youth Orchestras at Trafford Music Service and also the woodwind tutor and band leader at South Craven secondary school. I graduated from Leeds Conservatoire BA Mus(Hons) in 2012 and gained qualified teacher status studying a PGCE at the University of Huddersfield in 2014.
Out of my love of music my passion for teaching clarinet, flute, oboe and saxophone evolved. I have gained extensive experience teaching in both primary and secondary schools, privately and online. I believe in providing a dedicated, tailored and well prepared education. My students are pushed to achieve their full passion and potential whilst expanding their musical tastes from classical, jazz, broadway to modern.
I am ardent about building strong relationships and tailoring lessons to suit my individual student's needs. I provide a safe and nurturing environment to facilitate learning in a fun and engaging way. I have full DBS checks, safeguarding and first aid training. I have also undergone training in woodwind instrument repair and like to restore vintage instruments in my spare time. My other hobbies have also led me to qualify as a yoga teacher (RYT 200) which I regularly interweave into lessons to help students develop good breathwork, a strong technique and an inner awareness they can take with them in every day life.
